What inspired you to create Gloriator?
We are both huge fans of the film Gladiator on which the show is (very loosely) based, and loved the idea of taking on a very serious macho film and turning it into a two woman comedy show.
What can the audience expect from the performance?
To laugh! The two characters – a pretentious French actress and her hopeless assistant – are both complete idiots and their relationship is at the heart of the show. There will also be a lot of cardboard, and a lot of silliness.
Theatre Fest West celebrates theatre from the south west – what do you like most about working in this region?
I grew up on Dartmoor and Pauline lives in Bristol so we both have strong ties with the South West. We feel very privileged to be able to work where we live, especially as it’s such a beautiful area populated by people with an excellent sense of humour!
Gloriator is in The Salberg at Salisbury Playhouse on Wednesday 23 March 2016 at 7.45pm as part of Theatre Fest West. For more details visit the Salisbury Playhouse website or contact the Ticket Office on 01722 320333.
