Work begins

During the summer months the Workshop team are usually busy building Panto and starting the set for the season opener.  This has started a little earlier this year due to the huge reconstruction of the main house for Way Upstream.
The last time the main house was reconfiguered to in-the-round was in 2005 for To Kill a Mockingbird. Way Upstream isn’t quite in-the-round, but nearly – click here to see the new seating plan.

With 8 weeks until opening night, the Production team have been busy taking out the front of the stage, removing the front four rows of seats and building a platform. Next the 40,000 litre water tank will be constructed in the gap left. It’s always amazing to see the stage transformed into such different spaces for each production – but this this transformation is something else.
